Greetings!
I am a clinical and research psychologist, and an advisor in psychedelic medicine and alternative healthcare. My mission is to create safe and sacred settings for working with psychedelic medicines for healing and spiritual growth.
My experience spans spiritual direction, psychotherapy, medical psychology, neuropsychology, alternative therapies, and psychedelic-assisted therapies.
I now work with numerous psychedelic non-profits, advocacy groups, universities, clinics, retreat centers, legislative initiatives, and investment groups at the forefront of innovation in the delivery of psychedelics and plant medicines.
Present Advisory: Alvarius Pharmaceuticals, Beond, Brain Health Restoration Clinics, Journey Colab, Kaivalya Kollectiv, Kernel, Lionheart Ventures, The Mission Within, Ojai Energetics, Silo Wellness, Tandava Retreats, Terragnosis, TRIPP, UltraNative, and Woven Science.
My expertise is in working with ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT. I served as Director and CEO at Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico, a psychedelic treatment center. In this role, I presented novel observational research on 5-MeO-DMT and ibogaine, brain imaging data, and developed guidelines for 5-MeO-DMT administration.
I recently worked as a co-investigator in phase 2 trials of MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for PTSD sponsored by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in Los Angeles.
Together with my partner and co-founder, Tricia Eastman, we have co-led psychedelic retreats across the globe since 2015 through Psychedelic Journeys. These immersions include embodiment practices and sacred ceremonies in idyllic naturalistic locations.
The primary modalities that inform my therapeutic work are Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, spiritual psychology, archetypal and transpersonal psychology, and divination practices. I am a student of the African spiritual tradition called ‘Bwiti’ (which utilizes the iboga plant as its sacrament), as well as a student in the Ministry Program at the Center for Sacred Studies.
I earned a Master’s degree and PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology and a Master’s degree in Spiritual Theology from the Fuller Theological Seminary. I received advanced training in neuropsychology at the University of Southern California (USC), UCLA, and the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital. I completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital in brain aging. My research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals.
